Season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is a universal day of fasting and abstinence.
Fasting: You can only eat one full meal for the whole day. You can have two small meals in addition to the full meal but they can’t equal the main meal when combined.
Abstinence: You refrain from eating all meat. During the season of Lent the obligation is to abstain from meat every Friday and to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
